REVIEW: Toweligator

One of the reasons that I enjoy living in South Florida is the ability to drive East for less than an hour and hit the Atlantic Ocean. Or drive West for about 1 1/2 hours and hit the Gulf of Mexico. I have always loved just sitting on the beach listening to music and reading a good book.

 Now, one of the reasons that I HATE living here, aside from the traffic, is the rain. During the Summer months we are guaranteed rain practically every day. And that is exactly what we have been getting. So needless to say, I haven't been lounging on the beach much.

 I recently received a pair of Toweligator® to review and was so looking forward to trying them out at the beach. Unfortunately, Mother Nature has not been cooperating. So, I was only able to try these poolside. I used them to hold my towel in place on my lounge chair and it works as designed.

At some point, every beachgoer has experienced trouble with the wind ripping away their beach towel or struggled with trying to hang that wet suit or beach towel up to dry on less-than ideal surfaces.

The Toweligator is a bendable alligator beach clamp that grips tightly with its mouth onto a beach towel or accessory and wraps firmly with its tail to secure it down into the sand or to a chair. 

Unlike common one-use towel holders, because of the distinctive and patented bendable tail design, you can also stick it straight into the beach to keep cell phones, reading glasses, or iPods safe from the sand.  The strong gator-grip jaws ensure your belongings stay where you put them.

The clamps are made of sturdy plastic with bendable tails. I really wish that I had been able to try it at the beach though. There's nothing I hate more than my towel flying around. With the Toweligator®, I wouldn't need to use my cooler, shoes, bags, etc, to keep my towel in place. Another thing that I really wanted to try involved my Nook. I'm hoping that I could stick the tails in the sand and clamp my Nook so that I could read more comfortably while on my belly. I do have a beach sleeve for it, so it's pretty protected. Hopefully I can experiment soon. For travel, these would be great for hanging wet clothes on a shower rod, especially if there is not a laundry line available in the shower.

I think that, although on the large side, the Toweligators will also make fun tablecloth weights for pool or beach themed parties. Oh, and by the way, all my Gator fans loved them!
